On Saturday, November 8, Leibniz University Hannover will open its doors for "Die Nacht, die Wissen schafft". The Institute for Cell Biology and Biophysics will be there and looks forward to giving all interested parties exciting insights into our research.
- What is mRNA and what is it used for?
The Computational Biology department invites you to become a ribosome yourself with “Gene ACTion - Dance Your Genome.”
- How can a single stem cell become an entire tissue?
At the cell fabrication stand, visitors can build their own tissue just like in the lab and learn more about modern 3D cell culture technologies.
- Hydrogels – never heard of them? We bet you did.
The Cell Biology Department explains how familiar materials can become a home for cells and shows you how to make “Edible Hydrogels” in your own home.
For anyone whose curiosity has been piqued, Cornelia Lee-Thedieck, Sophia Rudorf und Dominik Egger will be giving presentations at the Herrenhausen campus about the research conducted at our institute.
